Rouille des feuilles de blé
La rouille des feuilles de blé, est une maladie fongique qui affecte le blé, l'orge et les tiges de seigle, les feuilles et les grains. Dans les zones tempérées, il est destructeur sur le blé d'hiver parce que le pathogène passe l'hiver. Les infections peuvent entraîner une perte de rendement de 20% - exacerbées par les feuilles mourantes qui fertilisent le champignon. Le pathogène est le champignon rouillé de Puccinia. Puccinia triticina provoque une «rouille noire», P.recondita provoque une «rouille brune» et P.striiformis provoque une «rouille jaune». C'est la plus répandue de toutes les maladies de la rouille du blé, qui se produisent dans la plupart des régions cultivées dans le blé. Cela provoque de graves épidémies en Amérique du Nord, au Mexique et en Amérique du Sud et est une maladie saisonnière dévastatrice en Inde. Les trois types de Puccinia sont hétéroïques nécessitant deux hôtes distincts et éloignés. La rouille et le charbon semblable sont des membres de la classe Pucciniomycetes mais la rouille n'est normalement pas une masse noire en poudre.
