Lagos - la plus grande ville et ancienne capitale du Nigeria, environ 10 millions d'habitants. Le plus important à Kinshasa et au Caire en Afrique. La capitale du Nigeria jusqu'en 1991, lorsque la capitale a été déplacée à Abuja. Lagos, malgré le déplacement de la capitale à Abuja, est resté le centre économique du pays. Handlowano przyprawami, kością słoniową i niewolnikami. Miasto zostało przejęte przez Brytyjczyków w 1807 w celu powstrzymania handlu niewolnikami. Zostało wcielone do kolonii Nigerii w 1900. W 1962 roku założono jedyny w mieście uniwersytet.
