La polarizzazione di un'onda trasversale descrive la direzione della sua oscillazione. Se questa direzione cambia rapidamente e disordinatamente, si parla di un'onda non polarizzata. Polarizzazione circolare: deviazione nella direzione x e y in funzione del tempo e z componente della posizione. Rosso e blu i componenti della deviazione, nero la vista 3D. La freccia illustra il vettore di deviazione orbitante per un punto spaziale.

Der Pfeil illustriert den umlaufenden Auslenkungsvektor für einen Raumpunkt.
