La logica doxastica è una logica modale che riguarda il ragionamento delle credenze. Il termine doxastic deriva dall'antico greco δόξα, doxa, che significa "credenza". In genere, una logica doxastica usa 'Bx' per significare "Si ritiene che x sia il caso", e l'insieme indica un insieme di credenze. Nella logica doxastica, la credenza viene considerata come un operatore modale. : Esiste un completo parallelismo tra una persona che crede proposizioni e un sistema formale che deriva proposizioni. Usando la logica doxastica, si può esprimere la controparte epistemica del teorema di incompletezza di Gödel del metalogico, così come del teorema di Löb e di altri risultati metalogici in termini di credenza.
