Conrad Phillip Kottak scrive: L'encultura è il processo in cui la cultura attualmente stabilita insegna ad un individuo le norme e valori accettati della cultura o della società in cui vive l'individuo. L'individuo può diventare membro accettato e adempiere alle funzioni e ai ruoli necessari del gruppo.
