Chamaedaphne calyculata, in pelle di lino, è un arbusto nella famiglia delle piante Ericaceae e l'unica specie nel genere Chamaedaphne. Ha un'ampia distribuzione in tutte le regioni fredde temperate e subartiche dell'emisfero settentrionale. È un arbusto a bassa crescita fino a 1,5 m di altezza. Le foglie sono disposte alternativamente sul ramo e sono ellittiche a forma oblunghe, lunghe 3-4 cm, spesse e cuoie, con scala minima e colorazione più leggera sulla parte inferiore e un margine intero o irregolare dentato. Sono sempreverdi, ma spesso diventano rossi in inverno. I fiori sono piccoli, bianchi e bellissimi, realizzati in panicles fino a 12 cm di lunghezza. Il sito della specie è limitato a paludi, dove formano naturalmente grandi colonie clonali. Il nome Chamaedaphne proviene dal greco per "l'alloro terra"; Il nome comune deriva dalla sua dura foglia di cuoio. Leatherleaf è utilizzato come pianta alimentare dalle larve di alcune specie di Lepidoptera, tra cui Coleophora ledi.
