CHE SIGNIFICA OMOPHORION IN INGLESE
Omophor
Nella tradizione liturgica ortodossa orientale e orientale, l'omofora è il segno distintivo di un vescovo e simbolo della sua autorità spirituale e ecclesiastica. Originariamente di lana, è una fascia di broccato decorata con quattro croci e una stella a otto punte e viene indossata sul collo e sulle spalle. Simboleggiando le pecore perse che si trovano e portano sulle spalle del Buon Pastore, significa il ruolo pastorale del vescovo come icona di Cristo.
