Nella geometria differenziale, una curva osculante è una curva piano da una data famiglia che ha il più alto ordine possibile di contatto con un'altra curva. Cioè, se F è una famiglia di curve lisce, C è una curva liscia e p è un punto su C, quindi una curva osculante da F a p è una curva da F che passa attraverso p e ha tanti suoi derivati A p pari ai derivati di C possibile. Il termine deriva dalla radice del latino "osculate", per baciarsi, perché le due curve si contattano in un modo più intimo della semplice tangenza.
