Radar
Radar è un sistema di rilevamento degli oggetti che utilizza le onde radio per determinare l'intervallo, l'altitudine, la direzione o la velocità degli oggetti. Può essere utilizzato per rilevare aerei, navi, veicoli spaziali, missili guidati, veicoli a motore, formazioni meteo e terreno. La definizione di radar nel dizionario è un metodo per rilevare la posizione e la velocità di un oggetto distante, come un aereo. Un fascio stretto di impulsi radio ad altissima frequenza viene trasmesso e riflesso dall'oggetto indietro al trasmettitore, il segnale essendo visualizzato su un radaroscopio. La direzione del raggio riflesso e il tempo tra la trasmissione e la ricezione di un impulso determinano la posizione dell'oggetto Nome precedente: radiolocalizzazione.
