Cepola è un genere di pesci marini nella famiglia Cepolidae. Il nome redfish è applicato a tutti i membri di questo genere, ma in particolare a C. macrophthalma e, in genere, non C. australis, noto anche come il bordo australiano. Cinque specie sono riconosciute, e ci può essere un sesto, non ancora descritto, dalle acque nei pressi di Bermuda. La ricetta più antica registrata è per C. macrophthalma. Il ricettario originale di Mithaecus è ormai perduto, ma la ricetta stessa sopravvive grazie ad essere citata nel Deipnosophistae.
