Suaeda
Suaeda è un genere di piante noto anche come seepweeds e seablites. La maggior parte delle specie sono limitate agli habitat salini o alcalini del terreno, come le saline costiere e le zone umide di marea. Molte specie hanno foglie spesso, succulente, caratteristica che si vede in vari generi vegetali che prosperano negli habitat salati. Ci sono circa 110 specie nel genere Suaeda. La specie più comune nell'Europa nordoccidentale è la Suaeda maritima. Cresce lungo le coste, specialmente nelle aree saltmarsh, ed è noto in inglese come seablite comune. È anche comune lungo la costa orientale del Nord America dalla Virginia verso nord. Una delle sue varietà è comune in Asia tropicale sul bordo terrestre delle paludi di marea di mangrovie. Un'altra varietà di questa specie polimorfica è comune nelle zone di marea in tutto l'Australia. Sulle coste del Mar Mediterraneo una specie comune di Suaeda è Suaeda vera. Questo è conosciuto come "arbusti marciati" in inglese, in distinzione dal mare comune. Cresce più alto e forma un cespuglio.
