Datuk Mohammad Nor Khalid, o meglio conosciuto come Lat, è un fumettista malese. Il vincitore del Premio Culturale Asiatico Fukuoka nel 2002 ha pubblicato più di 20 volumi di fumetti dall'età di 13 anni. La maggior parte delle sue opere dipinge la situazione sociale e politica della Malesia in uno scherzo senza pregiudizi. Il lavoro Lat più famoso è Village Boy, pubblicato in diversi paesi in tutto il mondo. Nel 1994, il sultano di Perak, sultano Azlan Shah di donare il titolo Datuk Lat come riconoscimento del lavoro del fumettista nel contribuire a promuovere l'armonia sociale e la comprensione attraverso i suoi cartoni animati. Da bambino nato nel villaggio, Lat ha trascorso gran parte della sua gioventù fuori città prima di trasferirsi in città quando aveva 11 anni. Mentre era a scuola, ha aumentato le entrate della sua famiglia contribuendo con le vignette a giornali e riviste. Aveva solo 13 anni quando ha realizzato il suo primo libro a fumetti, Tiga Sekawan. Non essendo riuscito a raggiungere gradi soddisfacenti per proseguire gli studi dopo il liceo, Lat divenne giornalista.
