scálă s. f. – Febră aftoasă. Origine necunoscută. Legătură cu
sl. skala „așchie” (Cihac, II, 329), nu este probabilă. Această boală care provine din cauza murdăriei, ar putea să-și lege numele întru cîtva de
lat. squalidus „murdar”, mai ales că denumirea ei nu pare să fie moștenită.
