I could probably finish one of those and find out whether I suck before I've spent five years of my life on it.' In stumbling into comics that way, I discovered that I loved the form.
It's business, selling comics, you work out what sells and you don't want to muck about with it too much.
You go, well you can't joke about race. Well if you're from a different race and that's your experience of the world and you want to talk about that, then fine. Or you can't talk about disability, but disabled comics can talk about that.
What made me want to go into doing comics was I was working as a laborer with my father, a gardener.
