Serowowie to sześć gatunków średnich kozich lub antylopopodobnych ssaków rodzaju Capricornis. Serowie są wolniejsi i mniej zwinni niż członkowie rodzaju Naemorhedus, ale mimo to potrafią wspinać się po zboczach, aby uniknąć drapieżności lub schronienia w mroźnych zimach lub gorących miesiącach. Serowie, w przeciwieństwie do gorals, korzystają z ich preorbitalnych gruczołów zapachowych. Kolorystyka różni się w zależności od gatunku, regionu i jednostki. Obie płci mają brody i małe rogi, które są często krótsze niż ich uszy.
