Winietowanie
W fotografii i optyce winietowanie polega na zmniejszeniu jasności lub nasycenia obrazu na obwodzie w porównaniu z centrum obrazu. Słowo winietowe, z tego samego korzenia co winorosli, pierwotnie odnosiło się do ozdobnej granicy książki. Później słowo było używane do fotograficznego portretu, który jest wyraźnie w środku i zanika na brzegach. Podobny efekt występuje podczas filmowania wyświetlanych zdjęć lub filmów poza ekranem projekcji. Efekt tzw. Efektu "hotspot" definiuje tania wygląd filmu domowego, w którym nie ma właściwego telekine. Winietowanie jest często niezamierzonym i niepożądanym efektem spowodowanym przez ustawienia aparatu lub ograniczenia soczewek. Czasami jednak celowo jest wprowadzany do twórczego efektu, tak aby zwrócić uwagę na środek ramki. Fotograf może celowo wybrać soczewkę, która jest znana, aby uzyskać winietowanie w celu uzyskania efektu lub może być wprowadzona z użyciem specjalnych filtrów lub procedur obróbki końcowej. W przypadku używania soczewek superzoomowych, winietowanie może wystąpić w całym zakresie zoomu, w zależności od otworów i ogniskowej. Może to jednak nie zawsze być widoczne, z wyjątkiem najszerszego końca.
