Ayrıca Güneş çevresindeki yörüngeler için benzer şekilde perihelion ve aphelion terimleri kabul edilmiş olup, Ay çevresindeki yörüngeler için de Apollo Projesi esnasında pericynthion ve apocynthion sözcükleri tercih edilmiştir.
