Abreaction é um termo psicanalítico para revivir uma experiência para purgá-la de seus excessos emocionais; um tipo de catarse. Muitas traumatas eram tão sem importância, mesmo tão normais, que poderiam ser consideradas no máximo como pretexto para a neurose. despertou minha crítica foi o fato de que não poucos traumatas eram simplesmente invenções de fantasia e nunca aconteceram ".
