Os aminoácidos (/ əmiːnoʊ /, / əmaɪnoʊ /, ou / æmɪnoʊ /) são compostos orgânicos biologicamente importantes compostos por grupos funcionais de amina (-NH2) e ácido carboxílico (-COOH), juntamente com uma cadeia lateral específica para cada aminoácido.
