Botânica
A botânica, também chamada de ciência vegetal ou biologia vegetal, é a ciência da vida vegetal e um ramo da biologia. Um botânico é um cientista especializado neste campo de estudo. O termo "botânica" vem da palavra grega antiga βοτάνη que significa "pastagem", "grama" ou "forragem"; βοτάνη é, por sua vez, derivado de βόσκειν, "alimentar" ou "pastar".
