Carson City, oficialmente o Município Consolidado de Carson City, é uma cidade independente e a capital do estado de Nevada, nomeada para o homem da montanha, Kit Carson. A partir do recenseamento de 2010, a população era de 55.274. A maioria da população da cidade vive em Eagle Valley, na margem oriental da gama Carson, um ramo da Sierra Nevada. Carson City fica a cerca de 30 milhas a sul de Reno e se originou como uma parada para os emigrantes vinculados da Califórnia, mas se desenvolveu em uma cidade com o Comstock Lode, uma greve de prata nas montanhas ao nordeste.
