O cavalheirismo, ou o código cavalheiresco, é um código de conduta associado à instituição medieval da cavalaria. A cavalgadura surgiu de um costume alemão idealizado. Desenvolveu-se primeiro no norte da França entre soldados de cavalos que serviram na cavalaria pesada de Carlomagno. Foi originalmente concebido como um código de guerreiro aristocrático - o termo deriva do termo francês chevalerie, que significa cavalo soldado - envolvendo galanteria, treinamento individual e serviço a outros.
