Aérospatiale-BAC Concorde / kɒŋkɔrd / é um avião de passageiro supersônico excitador turbojetado ou transporte supersônico. É um dos dois únicos SSTs que entraram no serviço comercial; o outro era o Tupolev Tu-144. A Concorde foi desenvolvida e produzida conjuntamente pela Aérospatiale e pela British Aircraft Corporation no âmbito de um tratado anglo-francês. Primeiro volado em 1969, o Concorde entrou em serviço em 1976 e continuou os vôos comerciais por 27 anos. Entre outros destinos, o Concorde voou vôos transatlânticos regulares de Londres Heathrow e do Aeroporto Paris-Charles de Gaulle para Nova York JFK, Washington Dulles e Barbados; Voou essas rotas em menos de metade do tempo de outras aeronaves. Com apenas 20 aeronaves construídas, o desenvolvimento do Concorde foi uma perda econômica substancial; A Air France e a British Airways também receberam consideráveis subsídios do governo para comprá-los. O Concorde foi aposentado em 2003 devido a uma desaceleração geral no setor de aviação após o único acidente do tipo em 2000, os ataques terroristas do 11 de setembro de 2001 e uma decisão da Airbus, a sucessora da Aérospatiale e da BAC, de interromper o suporte de manutenção.
