O QUE SIGNIFICA CORNICE EM INGLÊS
Cornija
Uma cornija é geralmente qualquer moldagem decorativa horizontal que coroa um edifício ou elemento de móveis - a cornija sobre uma porta ou janela, por exemplo, ou a cornija ao redor da borda superior de um pedestal ou ao longo da parte superior de uma parede interior. Uma simples cornija pode ser formada apenas com uma moldagem de coroa. A função da cornisa projetada de um edifício é lançar a água da chuva livre das paredes do edifício. Na prática de construção residencial, esta função é tratada projetando extremidades de gable, beirais de telhado e calhas. No entanto, os aleros da casa também podem ser chamados de "cornijas" se forem acabados com molduras decorativas.
