As Forças Armadas Revolucionárias do Exército Popular da Colômbia são uma organização militar irregular envolvida no contínuo conflito armado colombiano desde 1964. As FARC-EP pretendem ser um exército de marxistas-leninistas camponeses com uma plataforma política de agrarianismo e antiimperialismo . Em 2013, informou-se que 26.648 membros das FARC e do ELN decidiram desmobilizar-se desde 2002. De acordo com um relatório da Human Rights Watch, cerca de 20 a 30% dos recrutas são menores de idade, a maioria dos quais forçados a se juntar às FARC.
