Legionella
O gênero Legionella é um grupo patogênico de bactérias gram negativas, que inclui a espécie L. pneumophila, causando legionelose, incluindo uma doença do tipo pneumonia chamada doença dos legionários e uma doença de gripe leve chamada febre de Pontiac. Pode ser facilmente visualizado com uma mancha de prata. Legionella é comum em muitos ambientes, incluindo sistemas de solo e aquáticos, com pelo menos 50 espécies e 70 serogrupos identificados.
