Mandrill
O mandril é um primata da família do macaco do Velho Mundo, intimamente relacionado com os babuínos e ainda mais próximo da broca. Encontra-se no sul dos Camarões, Gabão, Guiné Equatorial e Congo. Os Mandrills vivem principalmente em florestas tropicais e mosaicos de savana florestal. Eles vivem em grupos chamados de hordas. Os mandrills têm uma dieta omnívora que consiste principalmente em frutas e insetos. Sua temporada de acasalamento ocorre de junho a outubro. Tanto o mandrill como a broca foram classificados como babuínos no gênero Papio, mas pesquisas recentes determinaram que eles deveriam ser separados em seu próprio gênero, Mandrillus. Os mandrills são os maiores macacos do mundo. Charles Darwin escreveu em The Descent of Man que "nenhum outro membro de toda a classe de mamíferos é colorido de maneira tão extraordinária quanto os machos masculinos adultos". O mandrill é classificado como vulnerável pela UICN.
