Shetland, também chamado de ilhas Shetland, é um arquipélago subarctico da Escócia que fica a nordeste da Grã-Bretanha continental. O lema das ilhas, que aparece no brasão do Conselho, é Með lögum skal land byggja. Esta frase islandesa é tirada da saga Njáls e significa "Por lei, a terra será construída". A área total é de 1.468 km2 e a população totalizou 23.167 em 2011.
