Stringhalt
Stringhalt é uma flexão súbita de uma ou das duas patas traseiras no cavalo, mais facilmente visto enquanto o cavalo anda ou trota. É mais evidente quando o cavalo está apoiando lentamente, ligando a perna afetada ou de repente assustado. Pode envolver uma ou ambas as patas traseiras do cavalo. É uma contração espasmódica dos tendões extensores laterais das pernas traseiras. Um exemplo de stringhalt bilateral em um cavalo: os javali são flexionados espasmódicamente e rapidamente com os pés mantidos altos antes da colocação rápida de volta no chão. A condição é mais evidente durante o giro e o apoio.
