A teoria da substância, ou a teoria do atributo da substância, é uma teoria ontológica sobre o objetivo, a substância é um conceito-chave na ontologia e na metafísica, que pode ser classificada em variedades monistas, dualistas ou pluralistas de acordo com a quantidade de substâncias ou indivíduos que povoam, fornecem ou existem no mundo.
