Teletexto
O teletexto é um serviço de recuperação de informações de televisão criado no Reino Unido no início da década de 1970 pelo Philips Lead Designer para VDUs, John Adams. O teletexto é um meio de enviar páginas de texto e formas geométricas simples de blocos de mosaico para uma tela de televisão equipada com um decodificador de VBI usando um número de linhas de intervalo de blanking verticais reservadas que, em conjunto, formam a faixa escura dividindo as fotos horizontalmente na tela da televisão. Ele oferece uma variedade de informações baseadas em texto, geralmente incluindo horários de notícias, clima e TV. As informações de legenda pagas também são transmitidas dentro do sinal de televisão. As primeiras transmissões de teste foram feitas pela BBC em 1973, conhecida como Ceefax.
