Anticófeno poliênico de anfotericina B. É inválido para bactérias, mas tem um amplo espectro de atividade antimicrobiana contra fungos. Atua alterando a permeabilidade das células da bactéria e vazando componentes intracelulares. Existe tolerância e existe resistência cruzada entre nistatina. Devido à fraca absorção do aparelho digestivo, é aplicado a infecções fúngicas intensas, como candidíase por injeção intravenosa. A aplicação local às infecções fúngicas superficiais também é eficaz. Efeitos secundários, reações irritáveis são grandes e causam rim ou flebite.
