Biofeedback

Biofeedback, feedback biológico - fornecendo feedback às pessoas sobre mudanças em seu estado fisiológico. As mudanças fisiológicas do corpo são monitoradas por um dispositivo adequado, por exemplo, um sistema computadorizado. Este método é usado em psicologia, medicina, parapsicologia, mas também em esportes ou negócios. É também um método de terapia, que consiste em dar aos sinais de feedback do paciente sobre mudanças no estado fisiológico de seu corpo, para que ele ou ela possa aprender a modificar conscientemente funções que normalmente não são controladas conscientemente, como ondas cerebrais, resistência elétrica da pele, tensão muscular, etc. Eles são transmitidos sob a forma de: ▪ visual - por exemplo, quando a concentração da tela aumenta, a bola ou o avião voa mais alto, em momentos de distração a bola desaparece, enquanto o avião abaixa o vôo; ▪ som acústico - agradável em "sucesso", desagradável em "falha". A biofeedback não é uma alternativa à farmacoterapia. Em alguns casos, o substitui, em outros o complementa.

Biofeedback, biologiczne sprzężenie zwrotne – dostarczanie człowiekowi informacji zwrotnej o zmianach jego stanu fizjologicznego. Zmiany fizjologiczne organizmu monitorowane są przez odpowiednie urządzenie, np. pomiarowy system komputerowy. Metoda ta wykorzystywana jest między innymi w psychologii, w medycynie, w parapsychologii, ale także w sporcie czy biznesie. Jest to także metoda terapii, polegająca na podawaniu pacjentowi sygnałów zwrotnych o zmianach stanu fizjologicznego jego organizmu, dzięki czemu może on nauczyć się świadomie modyfikować funkcje, które normalnie nie są kontrolowane świadomie, np. fale mózgowe, opór elektryczny skóry, napięcie mięśni itp. Informacje przekazywane są w formie: ▪ wizualnej - np. podczas pogłębiania koncentracji na ekranie monitora powiększa się piłka lub samolot leci wyżej, w chwilach rozproszenia piłka znika, natomiast samolot obniża lot; ▪ akustycznej - przyjemny dźwięk przy „sukcesie”, nieprzyjemny przy „porażce”. Biofeedback nie jest alternatywną formą terapii w stosunku do farmakoterapii. W niektórych schorzeniach ją zastępuje, w innych uzupełnia.
