Dipisi - o termo usado pelo Aliado para aqueles que "na sequência da guerra estavam fora de seu próprio país e querem voltar para sua terra natal ou encontrar uma nova pátria, mas sem ajuda, não podem fazê-lo". No período imediato da Segunda Guerra Mundial, os dipasses foram previamente deportados para o trabalho forçado no Terceiro Reich, principalmente da Europa Oriental, prisioneiros de guerra e prisioneiros liberados de campos de concentração. Essas pessoas não retornaram imediatamente após sua libertação para seus países e foram colocadas em campos especiais. Principalmente eram campos de concentração anteriores, punitivos ou prisioneiros, às vezes também requisitados apartamentos. Estima-se que, no final de 1945, havia mais de 7 milhões de pessoas que viviam em tais campos, dos quais 90% voltaram para seus países. Três anos após a guerra, havia 370 campos nas zonas de ocupação britânica, francesa e americana, 120 na Áustria e 25 campos na Itália, com 800 mil refugiados no total.

W okresie bezpośrednio po zakończeniu II wojny światowej dipisami byli wcześniej wywiezieni na roboty przymusowe na teren III Rzeszy, przede wszystkim z terenów Europy Wschodniej, jeńcy wojenni oraz więźniowie uwolnieni z obozów koncentracyjnych. Osoby te nie powróciły zaraz po wyzwoleniu do swoich krajów i zostały umieszczone w specjalnych obozach. Przeważnie były to dawne obozy koncentracyjne, karne lub jenieckie, czasem również zarekwirowane mieszkania. Ocenia się, że pod koniec 1945 roku w takich obozach przebywało ponad 7 mln osób, z czego w późniejszym okresie do swoich krajów ostatecznie powróciło ok. 90% z nich. Trzy lata po wojnie w brytyjskiej, francuskiej i amerykańskiej strefie okupacyjnej Niemiec było 370 obozów, w Austrii - 120, zaś we Włoszech - 25 obozów, w których w sumie żyło 800 000 uchodźców.
