Agra, fosta capitală Hindustan, este un oraș de pe malul râului Yamuna, în nordul statului Uttar Pradesh, India. Este la 363 kilometri vest de capitala statului, Lucknow, la 200 kilometri sud de capitala națională New Delhi și la 125 de kilometri nord de Gwalior. Cu o populație de 1.686.976, acesta este unul dintre cele mai populare orașe din Uttar Pradesh și al 19-lea cel mai populat din India. Agra se poate referi și la cartierul administrativ care își are sediul în orașul Agra. Este o destinație turistică importantă din cauza numeroaselor sale splendide clădiri din epoca Mughal, în special Tāj Mahal, Fortul Agra și Fatehpūr Sikrī, toate acestea fiind situri patrimoniului mondial UNESCO. Agra este inclus pe circuitul turistic Triunghiul de Aur, alături de Delhi și Jaipur. Orașul este menționat în epicul Mahābhārata, unde era numit Agrevaṇa. Legenda atribuie întemeierea orașului Raja Badal Singh, un rege Sikarwar Rajput, al cărui fortă, Badalgarh, se afla pe sau lângă locul fortului prezent.
