Bluetooth
Bluetooth este un standard de tehnologie fără fir pentru schimbul de date pe distanțe scurte de la dispozitivele fixe și mobile și crearea rețelelor personale. Inventat de vânzătorul de telecomunicații Ericsson în 1994, a fost inițial conceput ca o alternativă wireless la cablurile de date RS-232. Poate conecta mai multe dispozitive, depășind problemele de sincronizare. Bluetoothul este gestionat de grupul de interese speciale Bluetooth, care are peste 20.000 de companii membre în domeniul telecomunicațiilor, calculului, rețelelor și electronicii de larg consum. Bluetooth a fost standardizat ca IEEE 802.15.1, dar standardul nu mai este menținut. SIG supraveghează dezvoltarea specificațiilor, gestionează programul de calificare și protejează mărcile comerciale.
