Transducția (genetică)
Transducția este procesul prin care ADN-ul este transferat de la o bacterie la alta printr-un virus. De asemenea, se referă la procesul prin care ADN străin este introdus într-o altă celulă printr-un vector viral. Transducția nu necesită un contact fizic între celula care dă ADN-ul și celula care primește ADN-ul și este rezistentă la DNaza. Transducția este un instrument comun folosit de biologi moleculari pentru a introduce stabil o genă străină într-un genom celular gazdă. Când bacteriofagii infectează o celulă bacteriană, modul lor normal de reproducere este acela de a recupera mecanismele de replicare, transcriere și translație ale celulei bacteriene gazdă pentru a produce numeroase virioni sau particule virale complete, inclusiv ADN sau ARN viral și stratul proteic.
