Succesul, franciza politică sau pur și simplu franciza, distinctă de alte drepturi de vot, este dreptul de vot obținut prin procesul democratic. Dreptul de a candida la funcții este uneori numit eligibilitate pentru candidat, iar combinația dintre cele două drepturi este uneori numită drept sufragiu. În multe limbi, dreptul de vot este numit dreptul activ de vot, iar dreptul de a candida la funcția de funcționar este numit drept pasiv de vot. În limba engleză, acestea sunt uneori numite sufragii active și sufragii pasive. Succesul este deseori conceput în termeni de alegeri pentru reprezentanți.
