Genomica este o disciplină în genetică care aplică ADN-ul recombinant, metodele de secvențiere a ADN-ului și bioinformatica pentru a secvența, asambla și analiza funcția și structura genomilor. Câmpul include eforturile de a determina întreaga secvență de ADN a organismelor și de cartografiere genetică la scară redusă. Domeniul include, de asemenea, studii ale fenomenelor intragenomice, cum ar fi heterozis, epistasis, pleiotropie și alte interacțiuni între loci și alele din genom.
