În dinamica fluidelor, undele de gravitație sunt unde generate într-un mediu fluid sau la interfața dintre două medii atunci când forța gravitațională sau flotabilitatea încearcă să restabilească echilibrul. Un exemplu de astfel de interfață este că între atmosferă și ocean, care dă naștere la undele de vânt. Atunci când un element fluid este deplasat pe o interfață sau intern la o regiune cu o densitate diferită, gravitația va încerca să o readucă spre echilibru, rezultând o oscilare a stării de echilibru sau a orbitei de undă. Undele gravitaționale de pe o interfață aer-mare a oceanului se numesc valuri gravitaționale de suprafață sau valuri de suprafață, în timp ce undele de gravitație care se află în corpul apei sunt numite valuri interne.
