Mierele de miere sunt o mare și diversă familie de păsări mici și mijlocii, cele mai frecvente în Australia și Noua Guinee, dar de asemenea găsite în Noua Zeelandă, insulele Pacificului la est de Samoa și Tonga și insulele la nord și la vest de New Guineea cunoscută sub numele de Wallacea.
