Agricultura, numită și agricultură sau creștere, este cultivarea de animale, plante, ciuperci și alte forme de viață pentru alimente, fibre, biocombustibili, medicamente și alte produse folosite pentru susținerea și îmbunătățirea vieții umane. Agricultura a reprezentat dezvoltarea esențială a creșterii civilizației umane sedentare, prin care cultivarea speciilor domesticite a creat surplusuri alimentare care au alimentat dezvoltarea civilizației. Studiul agriculturii este cunoscut sub numele de știința agricolă. Istoria agriculturii datează de mii de ani, iar dezvoltarea sa a fost condusă și definită de climat, culturi și tehnologii foarte diferite. Cu toate acestea, toate agricultura se bazează, în general, pe tehnici de extindere și menținere a terenurilor care sunt adecvate pentru creșterea speciilor domesticite. Pentru plante, aceasta necesită, de obicei, o anumită formă de irigare, deși există metode de cultivare a uscării. Animalele sunt crescute într-o combinație de sisteme cu pajiști și fără pământ, într-o industrie care acoperă aproape o treime din suprafața lumii fără gheață și apă.
