Nivelatoare
Nivelatorii au fost o mișcare politică în timpul războiului civil englez care a subliniat suveranitatea populară, sufragiul extins, egalitatea în fața legii și toleranța religioasă, toate acestea fiind exprimate în manifestarea "Acordul poporului". Au apărut la sfârșitul primului război civil din Anglia și au avut cea mai mare influență înainte de începerea celui de-al doilea război civil. Vederile și sprijinul au fost găsite în populația orașului Londra și în unele regimente din Armata modelului nou. Nivelatorii nu erau un partid politic în sensul modern al cuvântului și nu se comportau cu toții la un manifest specific. Acestea au fost organizate la nivel național, cu birouri în numeroase hanuri și taverne din Londra, cum ar fi Filiala Rosemary din Islington, care și-a luat numele din fantele de rozmarin pe care Levellers le-ar purta în pălării ca pe un semn de identificare. Din iulie 1648 până în septembrie 1649 au publicat un ziar The Moderate și au fost pionieri în folosirea petițiilor și pamfleturilor în scopuri politice. Ei s-au identificat prin panglici maro-verzi purtați pe hainele lor.
