Mina de teren
O mină de teren este un dispozitiv exploziv, ascuns sub sau pe pământ și destinat să distrugă sau să dezactiveze țintele inamice, de la soldați la vehicule și tancuri, în timp ce trec pe lângă sau în apropierea dispozitivului. Astfel de dispozitive sunt detonate în mod automat prin presiune de la pasul țintă sau de la deplasarea pe el, deși pot fi posibile alte mecanisme de detonare. Dispozitivul poate provoca daune fie printr-o explozie directă, fie prin fragmente care sunt aruncate de explozie. Denumirea provine din practica antică a mineritului militar, unde tunelurile au fost săpate sub fortificații inamice sau formațiuni de trupe de către sappers. Aceste tuneluri de distrugere s-au prăbușit la început pentru a distruge țintele localizate mai sus, dar ulterior au fost umplute cu explozivi și detonați pentru a provoca o devastare și mai mare. În prezent, în limbajul comun, minele de teren se referă în general la dispozitive fabricate în mod specific ca arme anti-personale sau anti-vehicule.
