Teologia naturală
Teologia naturală, numită odată și fizico-teologia, este o ramură a teologiei care oferă argumente teleologice pentru existența lui Dumnezeu pe baza rațiunii și a experienței obișnuite a naturii. Acest lucru o deosebește de teologia revelabilă, care se bazează pe experiențele biblice și ale Scripturii, precum și din teologia transcendentală, care se bazează pe un raționament a priori. Marcus Terentius Varro a stabilit o distincție între teologia politică, teologia naturală și teologia mitică. Terminologia sa a intrat în tradiția stoică și apoi în creștinism prin Sf. Augustin și Sf. Thomas Aquinas. Teologia naturală este astfel o ramură a filosofiei, a cărei obiect este natura zeilor sau a unui Dumnezeu suprem. În religiile monoteiste, aceasta implică în principal argumente despre atributele sau neapăraturile lui Dumnezeu și mai ales despre existența unor argumente ale lui Dumnezeu care nu implică recurgerea la revelație supranaturală.
