Dacă există un acord prealabil cu furnizorul de cont pentru o descoperire de cont și suma depășită se încadrează în limita autorizată de descoperit de cont, atunci dobânda este, în mod normal, percepută la rata convenită. Dacă soldul negativ depășește termenii conveniți, pot fi percepute taxe suplimentare și se pot aplica rate de dobândă mai mari.
