Parohie
O parohie este o unitate teritorială a bisericii care constituie o diviziune a unei eparhii. O parohie se află sub îngrijirea pastorală și jurisdicția clericală a unui preot paroh, care ar putea fi asistat de unul sau mai mulți curatori și care operează dintr-o biserică parohială. Din punct de vedere istoric, o parohie deseori acoperea aceeași zonă geografică ca un conac. Prin extensie, termenul parohie se referă nu numai la unitatea teritorială, ci și la comunitatea sau congregația sa, precum și la proprietatea bisericii din interiorul ei. În Anglia, această proprietate bisericească era, din punct de vedere tehnic, în proprietatea preotului paroh, care i se încredințase instituției sale în acea parohie.
