Pentametrul (din greacă: πεντάμετρος - "măsurarea a cinci picioare") este un metru poetic. O poezie se spune că este scrisă într-un pentamer (în special) când liniile poemului au o lungime de cinci picioare, un picior fiind o combinație de un anumit număr (1 sau 2) de silabe nestratite sau slabe, și un stres , sau silabă puternică.
