O schemă de pensii personale, denumită uneori un plan de pensii personale, este un vehicul individual de investiții privilegiat în Marea Britanie, cu scopul principal de a construi o sumă de capital pentru a furniza beneficii de pensie, deși va oferi, de obicei, și beneficii pentru deces. Aceste planuri au devenit disponibile pentru prima dată la 1 iulie 1988 și au înlocuit planurile de anuitate de pensionare. Atât individul poate contribui la fel de bine ca și angajatorul său. Beneficiile pot fi luate în orice moment după vârsta de 55 de ani, dacă regulile planului permit sau mai devreme în caz de sănătate. În trecut, legislația impunea beneficii înainte de vârsta de 75 de ani, iar multe planuri conțin încă această restricție. O parte din fond poate fi considerată o sumă forfetară la pensionare. Există două tipuri de scheme de pensii personale: Pensiile personale asigurate, în care fiecare contract va dispune de o gamă fixă de fonduri de investiții pentru alegătorii de pensii și de pensii personale autoinvestite. Pensiile personale asigurate, cu taxe limitate la un nivel scăzut și care îndeplinesc anumite condiții, sunt cunoscute sub denumirea de Pensii părților interesate.
