Adâncimea de accent este un termen lingvistic de conveniență pentru o varietate de sisteme de tonuri limitate care utilizează fie variații de pitch pentru a acorda importanță unei silabe sau mora într-un cuvânt, fie au un contrast între diferite tonuri din șilaba numai tonic. Termenul a fost folosit pentru a descrie anumite limbi scandinave și sudice slave, greaca veche, sanscrita vedică, japonezii, coreenii, hiaki și Shanghainese. Deși sa afirmat că "accentul înclinat" nu este un termen definit în mod coerent, se înțelege că se referă la o limbă care folosește tonul fonemic, dar în care doar una sau două silabe într-un cuvânt pot fi marcate fonemat pentru ton și mulți cuvintele nu sunt marcate cu tonul deloc. În aceste limbi, silaba cu ton fonemic este de obicei acustic proeminentă, într-o manieră similară cu stresul dinamic al limbilor precum engleza sau spaniola. Limbile accentuate la pictură pot avea un sistem accent mai complex decât limbile accentuate la stres, deoarece în unele cazuri au mai mult de o distincție binară, dar sunt mai puțin complexe decât limbile complet tonale, cum ar fi chineza sau Yoruba, care atribuie un ton separat fiecare silabă.
